Biography

Moisés Marín has been praised for his beautiful timber, powerful projection, and iconic stage presence. Over the last years, he has been settled as the one principal spieltenor in all the major Opera houses in Spain. Nevertheless, he most recently made his debut as Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor, and some of the most renowned “baritenore” roles, such as Pirro in Rossini’s Ermione and Pollione in Bellini’s Norma. His name has actually been present in the last seasons of Gran Teatre del Liceu (Barcelona), Teatro Real (Madrid), ABAO, Teatro Campoamor (Oviedo), Teatro de la Maestranza (Seville) and Palau de les Arts (Valencia). His future highlights engagements include his debut as Belmonte in Mozart’s Entführung aus dem Serail in ABAO (Bilbao) and the premiere of his solo show “Nozzari: Furieux” where he expands all his baritenore art.

Even after he finished his training in the Centre de Perfeccionament Placido Domingo in 2018 at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, he has actually become one of the first choices for the Spanish theaters playing Goro in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, Incredibile in Giordano’s Andrea Chernier, Spoletta in Puccini’s Tosca, Die Steuermann in Wagner’s Fliegende Hölander, Spalanzani in Hoffemnbahc’s Hoffmann Tales, Pang in Puccini’s Turandot… and furthermore iconic roles in Philemone und Baucis, Lucrezia Borgia, Werther, Peter Grimes, Bastien und Bastienne, Traviata or Il mondo della Luna. Also, he had the opportunity to work with renowned Artists such as Placido Domingo, Fabio Biondi, Roberto Abbado, Mariella Devia, Emilio Sagi, and Davide Livermore.

Other engagements include Percy in Donizetti’s Anna Bolena conducted by Mº Fabio Biondi with Europa Galante Orchestra, Alfredo in Verdi’s Traviata, Dorvil in Rossini’s La Scala di Seta conducted by Mº Alberto Zedda. Duca in Rigoletto, Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Selimo in Rossini’s Adina. And Il Maestro di Scuola in Leoš Janáček´s “la Piccola Volpe Astuta at the Auditorium Parco della musica in Rome.

Moisés began his musical studies as a flute player and combined it with vocal studies with María del Coral Morales, at “Angel Barrios” conservatory in Granada, his hometown. He also was a pupil of bass-baritone Carlos Chausson and a member of the Opera Studio Ensemble in Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia under the guidance of Renata Scotto. He is currently studying with Eric Halfvarson.
